Vision for West Saint John, Ward 1
My vision for West Saint John Ward 1 begins with my pledge to promote improved cooperation between community and citizen groups, the private sector and the three levels of government in order to rebuild and maintain our urban infrastructure and opportunities for growth. I plan to do so in a manner that puts the proper resources in the right places, reduces the need to raise taxes in the future and ensures that the City of Saint John is a good employer and without waste of resources.
More specifically, I promise to work on:
-
Lowering the tax rate in Saint John without reducing city services through the tax base increase from $billions in new construction and jobs that are coming.
-
Clear and open citizen involvement in City projects such as Simms Corner and Fairville Boulevard redevelopment.
-
Benchmarks and accountability at City Hall.
-
Quarterly ward meetings to deal with West Side issues.
-
Continue to aggressively promote road and safety improvements in Acamac, Ketepec, and Belmont.
-
Promote free bus passes in off-peak hours for senior citizens.
-
Work with Milford citizens to further develop the pipeline property.
-
A second access road into Lorneville.
-
Promote improved communications and involvement with the West Side Business Association.
-
Aggressively promote business and retail development in West Side Saint John.
My successful track record in the past proves that I will be able to work with the team to achieve these goals on your behalf.
